Open file l2.ini and look for this:
Code: [Select]
[Editor.EditorEngine]
CacheSizeMegs=32

Try to change it to 512 (client won't accept more, 512 is cap). You can see the difference while the game is loading objects after teleporting. Also, on some computers users have experienced a little loading delays while camera was rotating around the character (while right mouse button was pressed and looked around). This should help in that case.

I was wondering why this is not available to configure in-game, even in the latest version of L2, Goddess of Destruction there is set 32MB.

Try it on your own and let me know if it helped. Game also runs better on SSD.

512MB maximum is enough for the whole client. I edit the system manually like that for years. ;D

Thanks for the info :) It's useful for people (like me) who haven't known about it for years. I updated first post.

Btw, are there any other interesting settings to know in client, Trance?

Well, I do have one more dll which skip all textures at startup - making the client much lighter.

I don't.

Anyway, here is some file for "background lag", like when you have two windows with l2 opened, the one @ background "lag". So, here is the fix, so called 'Decrease background performance' :P

This thing is from 2011-'12. It's helpful if you have more than one monitor. ;-D

Not only with more than one. When you make follow on your bot char sometimes the char stuck on some obstackles, with that no sleep mode shouldnt, I guess :D

Yup, "all" chronicles above int uses this thing.

I said "helpful with more than one monitor", because this thing is not increasing any performance. Just keeping the same fps, or something like that. Anyway. ;-D

Actually it's part of unreal engine to reduce the performance when a window is in "idle" state. This module prevents it. That's all.
